Carers

You’re a carer if you look after someone who has an illness or disability, usually a family member or close friend. You might do this round-the-clock or just for a few hours a week. It might be in your own home, in their home, or they might live quite far away. You may be balancing your unpaid caring role with other things like your children, work or education.

It doesn’t matter what your situation is, if you look after someone then you’re a carer - and you should be, and feel, supported.

Don't forget to let us know if you are a carer so that we can add you to our Carers register.

Adult carer support

The Warrington Adult Carers service provides free support to adult Carers (including Parent Carers and Young Adult Carers in transition), the service focuses on identifying Carers and supporting them to access services to assist them in their caring role and to help them to maintain and improve their health and wellbeing. The overall aim of the service is to improve the quality of life for Carers in Warrington, supporting them to sustain their caring role and enhancing their ability to enjoy a life outside of their caring role.
